Whale watching
De Kelders is one of South Africa’s best land-based viewpoints for Southern Right Whales. From roughly June or July until December, whales can often be seen in Walker Bay.

All rooms at La Luna and its ocean-facing garden look across Walker Bay, with the lights of Hermanus visible on the opposite side at night.
The houses sit above coastal cliffs and are close to trails, caves, beaches and protected fynbos. Happy Family is approximately 450 metres from La Luna, making the two properties convenient for larger groups travelling together.

Klipgat trail and caves
The scenic Klipgat trail begins directly in front of the guesthouses. The cliffs conceal important coastal caves, some of which can be reached on foot when conditions allow.

A scenic walk of about ten minutes leads to Die Plaat, a long white-sand beach stretching along Walker Bay.
